About Charlotte M. Kastl, MD

Dr. Charlotte Kastl is a specialty care physician board certified in general neurology. She joined Inova Neurology with more than 13 years of clinical experience. She is the Co-Medical Director of the Inova Headache Program and Medical Director of the Inova Concussion Program.

Previously, Dr. Kastl worked as a neurologist in the U.S. Army, serving in Hawaii, Afghanistan and Virginia.

She has a special interest in headaches, stroke and traumatic brain injury.

Dr. Kastl became interested in clinical neurology while working on research in Alzheimer’s disease at the National Institute of Mental Health. She is fascinated by the complexity of the brain and truly enjoys the day-to-day interactions with her patients. And, she is excited by all the new therapeutic options on the horizon for treatment of diverse neurologic conditions. She has particular expertise with the novel medications and devices offering patients targeted treatments for their headaches.

Her goal is to collaborate with her patients to deliver compassionate, informed and individualized care.

A native of Northern Virginia, Dr. Kastl currently resides in Fairfax, VA, with her husband and three children. In her spare time she enjoys exercise, travel and cooking.
