Dr. Merica Shrestha is a specialty care physician board certified in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, and internal medicine. She joined Inova in 2020, and has been practicing since 2007.
Dr. Shrestha served as a U.S. Army physician at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and then in the role of Assistant Chief of Endocrinology at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Ft. Gordon, GA. She subsequently practiced as an endocrinologist with Mount Vernon Internal Medicine beginning in 2016.
Dr. Shrestha evaluates and treats a broad spectrum of endocrinology conditions. She has special interests in fine-needle aspiration biopsies of thyroid nodules, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and pituitary disorders, osteoporosis, and complex diabetes management. She is passionate about creating trusting partnerships with her patients, in order to help improve disease burden and quality of life.
Dr. Shrestha currently resides in Northern Virginia with her husband, three children, and dog. She enjoys exploring the outdoors with her family, cooking, and traveling.
