U.S. Army Reserve, Inova Health System Launch Partnership
April 16, 2008
Trained Army Reserve Soldiers to be Offered Job Opportunities at Inova
ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The U.S. Army Reserve and Inova Health System today
announced the launch of a unique public-private partnership that will allow both
organizations to recruit, train and employ young people interested in both
serving the nation and pursuing the health care profession.
The agreement provides new Army Reserve Soldiers opportunities for employment
at Inova Health System facilities once they successfully complete military
occupational training in areas of critical clinical support. At present, these
include radiology, respiratory therapy and surgical occupations. The Army
Reserve and Inova will together recruit, train, credential, license and certify
qualified soldier candidates who are entering the health care field.
“I’m honored that Inova Health System has stepped forward to join the Army
Reserve as the first employer partner to create new employment opportunities in
the health care arena,” said Lt. Gen. Jack C. Stultz, Chief, Army Reserve and
Commanding General, Army Reserve Command. “Business partnerships with
respected organizations like Inova underscore the support America’s employers
continue to give the Army Reserve.”
“Inova Health System reaffirms our strong support for members of the Army
Reserve and their families, and recognizes their tremendous contribution to our
communities both as Soldiers and citizens,” said Inova Health System President
and CEO Knox Singleton.
The Employer Partnership Initiative seeks to formalize the relationship
between the Army Reserve and the private sector. It establishes a process
whereby employers and the Army Reserve may secure and share the talents of
trained professionals. Partners such as Inova will benefit from the employment
of men and women with Army values, experience and proven leadership skills.
