Deborah FulbrookDeborah Fulbrook, Ed.M., MHS, BSN, RN, NEA-BC, Debbie, joined Inova Health System as the Assistant Director of the Emergency Department with Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in November 2001. She and her family relocated here from Washington state, where she served as Director of Consulting Nurse Services with Group Health Cooperative. Prior to her tenure with Group Health, she served in a number of nurse leader positions including Nursing Supervisor at Centre Community Hospital in State College, PA, and two overseas assignments with the United States Army in Augsburg and Bad Aibling, Germany. During her tenure with Inova, Debbie advanced to become Patient Care Director of the Emergency Department and Clinical Decision Unit with Inova Fair Oaks Hospital and Senior Director of the surgical value stream, physical medicine and rehabilitation, administrative supervisors, registered dieticians and strategic service lines as well as selected acute care inpatient units.

Debbie holds an undergraduate nursing degree from the University of San Francisco. She also earned a master’s degree in education from Boston University and master’s degree in health sciences from St. Francis University in Loretto, PA. She is a certified nurse executive-advanced through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and a member of the American Nurses Association, the Virginia Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau, the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses and the American Organization of Nurse Leaders.

Debbie has been recognized by Inova Fair Oaks Hospital for demonstrating excellence in transformational nursing leadership and has been an Inova Fair Oaks Hospital scholarship recipient, in addition to receiving multiple focused recognitions and shared belief awards. Debbie is passionate about her drive for nursing excellence and developing new nurse leaders into the full capacity of their roles.
