Raj Chand, MD, serves as President of Inova Fair Oaks Hospital.
Prior to his appointment, Raj served on the medical staff of Inova Fair Oaks Hospital since 2020 as a practicing emergency medicine (EM) physician and as a member of the Admin Council (Chief Medical Officer). He served as Medical Director of the Inova Fair Oaks Emergency Department for four years and served as President of Virginia Emergency Medicine Associates (VEMA) for six years.
As VEMA President, Raj oversaw clinical leadership teams, grew the practice to 60 physicians and 30 advanced practice providers, and led the transformation of VEMA's corporate infrastructure.
Through these experiences, Raj has developed significant expertise in operations, patient safety and patient flow. He is enthusiastic about the role of technology and clinical informatics in improving healthcare outcomes. He served in physician leadership roles during the Picis EMR and Epic implementations and during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Raj grew up in New Jersey and earned his BA in philosophy from Rutgers University. He graduated from the Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency in emergency medicine at George Washington University.
