Holiday Hours

With the exception of Inova hospitals, Inova Emergency Care and Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care, all Inova outpatient offices will be closed for the Christmas and New Year's Day holidays – Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1.

Some Inova care sites have additional closures for the holidays, which will be noted on the relevant location pages.

About Dana M. Block-Abraham, DO

Dr. Dana Block-Abraham is a specialty care physician board certified in maternal-fetal medicine and obstetrics and gynecology. She joined Inova Health System in 2021 and has been practicing since 2007.

Dr. Block-Abraham joined the Perinatal Associates of Northern Virginia practice in 2017. She grew up in Independence, MO, and earned her bachelor’s degree from Barry University in Miami Shores, FL, where she was a member of the NCAA Division II national champion volleyball team. She then worked for three years before starting medical school at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine.  

Dr. Block-Abraham completed a rotating internship at Broward General Medical Center while her husband finished his pediatrics residency. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN, where she served as an administrative Chief Resident in her final year. She then completed her maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD.  

Dr. Block-Abraham completed an additional two years of formal fellowship training in fetal intervention at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, where she learned advanced in-utero procedures and surgeries. She is very involved in organized medicine and holds leadership positions within the American Medical Association, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine. 

Dr. Block-Abraham’s research interests broadly include preeclampsia, fetal therapy and health policy. She has published several peer-reviewed manuscripts. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, reading, playing volleyball, listening to music and watching movies when she is not working.
