Dongjin Shin is a family nurse practitioner, dedicated to caring for older adults. She first joined Inova in 2019 as a registered nurse then rejoined in 2025 and has been practicing as a nurse practitioner since 2023.

Prior to rejoining Inova, Dongjin was a nurse practitioner at Mary Washington Medical Oncology in Fredericksburg, VA.

Dongjin is passionate about improving the wellbeing of the geriatric population. Her patient-centered care approach focuses on understanding each individual’s unique needs, preferences and goals, ensuring their voice is heard in all decisions. Her main goal is to enhance the quality of life for elderly patients by prioritizing comfort, dignity and overall health. She works closely with patients, families and healthcare teams to address not only physical health but also emotional and social wellbeing.

Dongjin enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys in her free time. They love traveling, visiting museums and exploring new adventures together. As part of the Inova House Calls team, Dongjin is excited to provide exceptional care to the Inova community. With her compassionate and holistic approach, she is committed to creating a supportive environment for aging individuals throughout their care journey.
