About Eric A. Libre, MD

Dr. Eric Libre is a specialty care physician board certified in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at Inova Health System. He has been in practice since 1997. He served as Chief of the Critical Care Section at Inova Fairfax Hospital from 2006 to 2010 and has been Chief of the Pulmonary Section at Inova Fairfax Hospital since 2010.

Dr. Libre’s clinical areas of interest include interstitial lung disease and severe asthma. He is an Associate Professor of Medical Education at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, Inova Campus, and has been recognized by Washingtonian magazine as one of the region’s "Top Docs." He was awarded the 2021 “Pulmonary Clinician of the Year” by the DC Metropolitan Thoracic Society. Dr. Libre's patients say he is “kind and personable and has the greatest bedside manner. I wish he could be my only doctor."

Outside the office, Dr. Libre enjoys cycling, skiing and hiking with his family in the Adirondack mountains. He is fluent in Swedish and Italian.
