About Guoyang Luo, MD

Dr. Guoyang Luo, MD, PhD, is the Medical Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital and a Professor at the University of Virginia. He also serves as core teaching faculty for the maternal-fetal medicine fellowship program in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Luo held diverse roles in clinical practice, education, research, and administration at several academic institutions. Notably, he served as a tenured Professor and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Howard University College of Medicine, and as Division Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He also served as Director of the Center for Perinatal Medicine and Interim Section Chief of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Danbury Hospital; a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Vermont School of Medicine.

Dr. Luo is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and a member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and the American Gynecological and Obstetrical Society. He serves as an Associate Editor for Reproductive Sciences and Section Editor for Current Obstetrics and Gynecology Reports.

A passionate educator, Dr. Luo received the National Faculty Teaching Award, sponsored by ACOG and the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG), during his tenure at Danbury. He has authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented extensively at national and international scientific conferences.
