Dr. Ilias Iliopoulos is the Medical Director of Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care at Inova.
Before joining Inova, Dr. Iliopoulos served as an Attending Physician in Cardiac Critical Care at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center for 11 years. He also held had an academic appointment as an Associate Professor in Clinical Pediatrics with the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
Dr. Iliopoulos trained in pediatrics, neonatology and pediatric critical and cardiaccritical care in the United Kingdom at prestigious academic hospitals including Royal Free Hospital, Royal London Hospital and Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital. He specializes in pediatrics, neonatology and pediatric cardiac critical care. His research has focused on outcomes after congenital heart surgery, near-infrared spectroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring. He has authored more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has been an invited speaker at national and international conferences.
