Dr. Joanna Clough is a specialty care physician board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. She joined Inova in 2024 and has been practicing since 2020.
Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Clough was an obstetrics and gynecology resident at the NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine at NYU Langone Hospital in Long Island and Mineola, NY.
Dr. Clough received her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her OB/GYN residency at NYU Langone Hospital Long Island in Mineola, NY. During residency, Dr. Clough refined her clinical and teambuilding skills, learned the importance of patient-centered care, and made lifelong friends and colleagues. Her research was focused on evaluating pregnancy outcomes in patients with a retroverted uterus in the first trimester.
Dr. Clough is thrilled to have the opportunity to care for the community of Northern Virginia. She looks forward to guiding patients through all phases of their life, from early conversations about gynecological health and pregnancy through menopause and beyond. Her clinical areas of interest include reproductive health quality, LGBTQIA+ care, unexplained fertility and minimally invasive surgery. She has earned certification in DaVinci Laparoscopic and Robotic Gynecological Surgery.
Despite being born and raised in New York, Dr. Clough has always been eager to practice in the DMV area. She currently lives in Arlington, VA with her partner and children, surrounded by family and friends. In her spare time, Dr. Clough enjoys spending time with her loved ones, watching musical theater, traveling and sampling new flavors of ice cream.
