About Matthew D. Scripps, DO

Dr. Scripps is a primary care physician board certified in family medicine. He joined Inova Medical Group – Gainesville in 2010. He emphasizes preventive medicine and enjoys all aspects of comprehensive patient care. He also incorporates osteopathic manipulative treatment into the care he provides.

A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. Scripps always wanted to be a doctor but decided to practice family medicine after working with a family medicine doctor during a rotation in medical school. He was so impressed by the physician’s broad medical knowledge that he too wanted to know “something about everything”. One of the favorite parts of his job is helping people feel better by making them laugh. He enjoys sports, photography, and spending time with his wife and children.
