About Samira Mortazavi, CNM

Samira Mortazavi is a dual certified nurse midwife and women’s health nurse practitioner. She first joined Inova in 2018 and has been practicing as a certified nurse midwife since 2024.

Prior to joining Inova, Samira worked as a labor and delivery registered nurse in Fairfax, VA, and obtained a Master of Science in Nursing, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Midwifery degree at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.

Samira began her nursing career in gynecologic oncology before transitioning to labor and delivery, where she discovered a profound passion for supporting clients during pivotal and transformative moments in their lives. Wanting to expand her role and continue guiding patients through every stage of their health journey, she pursued midwifery and women’s health, earning dual credentials to provide comprehensive care.

Samira’s clinical areas of interest include supporting physiologic birth, managing complex gynecologic concerns, and delivering reproductive healthcare across the lifespan. Fluent in both English and Farsi, she values connecting with patients from diverse backgrounds and ensuring they feel understood, respected and supported. Her patient care philosophy is rooted in respect, empathy and clinical excellence. Samira is dedicated to building lasting trust and partnerships with her patients while providing holistic, evidence-based care tailored to their unique needs.

In her free time, Samira enjoys weightlifting, practicing yoga, reading, and spending quality time with her husband and family.
