With the exception of Inova hospitals, Inova Emergency Care and Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care, all Inova outpatient offices will be closed for the Christmas and New Year's Day holidays – Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1.

About Saqib A. Chaudhry, MD

Dr. Chaudhry is a neurologist specializing in vascular neurology and neuro-critical care joined Inova from the University of Pennsylvania Philadelphia, PA. 

Dr. Chaudhry specifically specializes in the treatment of stroke, status epilepticus and various other neurological emergencies which require neuro-intensive care management. His special interests include thrombolytic therapy, mechanical thrombectomy, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage, and long term management of stroke/rehabilitation. 

Additionally, He also the Director of the Inova Neurosciences Research Program supporting Inova Neurosciences which is missioned to advance the science and treatment of diseases of the brain and spine. Here, he oversees clinical trials and partnerships with the National Institute of Health (NIH) and various academic institutes. Prominent in the Inova Neurosciences Research Proram portfolio are clinical trials for Alzheimer’s disease, movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, with more in the evaluation pipeline and solicitation. 

He became interested in neuroscience research after a close family member suffered a catastrophic neurologic injury and focuses mainly on outcome research. He started his research career at New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Chaudhry completed his medical training at Shifa College of Medicine followed by advanced training with a fellowship in vascular neurology at Michigan State University and an additional fellowship in neurocritical care at the University of Pennsylvania. 

He has authored or co-authored more than 100 scientific publications which have been published in prestigious journals. He has also made several platform presentations at conferences such as the International Stroke Conference and American Association of Neurology. He has received several Research Excellence awards and he has served as the associate editor for the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Neurology.

A native of 208 GB Pakistan, Dr. Chaudhry currently resides in Fairfax, VA, with his family. In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering for Yaqeen Welfare, a nonprofit organization he founded during his early medical career.
