Minimum eligibility requirements

To meet minimum eligibility requirements for acceptance into Inova’s neurologic physical therapy residency program, applicants must: 

  • Be a graduate of a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited physical therapy program 
  • Have successfully completed the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE)
  • Have an active Virginia physical therapy license by the September residency start date 
  • Have completed Basic life support/CPR certification from the American Heart Association by the September residency start date 
  • Be a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)

Application and admission details

Applications are due by May 15. All applications will be reviewed by the residency committee upon receipt, and interviews will be scheduled during the months of May and June with a final decision by the end of June. The resident will begin the rotation in September of each year. The resident will be responsible for paying a tuition of $3,500 within the first 90 days of the program start date. Payment plan options are available.

  • Two professional letters of recommendation (new graduates must include one academic letter of recommendation and one letter of recommendation from a previous clinical instructor).
