Inova Fairfax Hospital participates in research efforts with the National Institutes of Health to impact and advance national pulmonary rehabilitation practices.

- Bronchiectasis Program: For airway clearance training.
- American Lung Association Smoking Cessation Program
- Cystic Fibrosis Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program: Following Cystic Fibrosis Foundation infection prevention guidelines.
- Endobronchial Valve and Pre and Post Pulmonary
- Pre-Surgical Program: Scheduled as needed, for pre-operative pulmonary hygiene techniques to include: incentive spirometry, positive expiratory pressure therapy, cough training and splinting.
