Holiday Hours

With the exception of Inova hospitals, Inova Emergency Care and Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care, all Inova outpatient offices will be closed for the Christmas and New Year's Day holidays – Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1.

Some Inova care sites have additional closures for the holidays, which will be noted on the relevant location pages.

Dr. Timothy Welch received his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University in 2003. His internal medicine residency was completed through the National Capital Consortium at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He completed his fellowships at the University of Virginia Medical Center in advanced heart failure and cardiac transplant and at the National Capital Consortium Walter Reed with a training specialty in cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Welch is board certified in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology and cardiovascular disease, and has been practicing since 2003.

Sumeet Mitter, MD

Director, Infiltrative and Restrictive Cardiomyopathy Center, Associate Director of Cardiomyopathy Research, Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist

Dr. Sumeet Mitter is a specialty care physician board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology. He joined Inova in 2023 and has been practicing since 2011.

Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Mitter was an attending physician at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, NY; Assistant Professor of Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, NY; Director of the Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction Program at Mount Sinai; Director of Mount Sinai’s Amyloidosis Program; and Associate Program Director of the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship at Mount Sinai.

Inova Amyloidosis Program Co-Director, Medical Director, Nuclear Cardiology at Virginia Heart

Dr. Ibrahim Saeed specializes in amyloidosis, ischemic and nonischemic cardiomyopathies, valve disease, aortic diseases, and coronary artery disease prevention. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University and performed a combined internship and residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Texas Houston. He then completed a fellowship in adult cardiology at Washington University in Saint Louis/Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

Dr. Saeed is a board-certified cardiologist specializing in clinical imaging to help accurately diagnose cardiac conditions.

Dr. Mitch Psotka received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. His internal medicine residency was completed at the University of California San Francisco. He completed his fellowship in advanced heart failure and cardiac transplant at the University of San Francisco with a training specialty in cardiology.

Dr. Psotka is board certified in cardiovascular disease, advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, and internal medicine and has been practicing since 2010.

Ana Barac, MD

Inova Schar Cancer and Inova Schar Heart and Vascular's D'Aniello Chair, Cardio-Oncology Medical Director, Cardio-Oncology Program

Dr. Ana Barac's clinical and research interests center on advanced cardiovascular imaging, specifically the utilization of cardiac magnetic resonance and echocardiography, to study cardiovascular effects associated with cancer therapies. She is board certified in cardiovascular disease and has been practicing since 1998.

Raymond Vlacancich, DO

Raymond Vlacancich, DO

Dr. Raymond Vlacancich specializes in general cardiology and is board certified in cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and internal medicine. He has a special interest in the management of disease prevention cardio-oncology and sports cardiology. 

Dr. Vlacancich graduated from Georgetown University Cardiology as the Chief Cardiology Fellow and has been invited to present at national cardiology conferences. He became interested in cardiology during his time at Villanova University where he embraced the mantra of compassionate hearts and minds: "The highest form of knowledge is empathy."

Today, as a general cardiologist his goal is to help educate his patients on their conditions and risk factors, and to develop a plan that is achievable and produces long term results.

Allman Rollins, MD

Dr. Allman Rollins received his medical degree from Meharry Medical College. His residency was at University of California San Francisco with a training specialty in internal medicine. He completed his fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a training specialty in cardiovascular disease and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology.

Dr. Rollins is board certified in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, cardiovascular disease and internal medicine and has been practicing since 2014.

 Palak Shah, MD

Dr. Palak Shah received his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine. His internal medicine residency was completed at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. He completed his fellowships at the George Washington University School of Medicine in cardiovascular disease and at the University of Michigan in heart failure/transplant cardiology.

Dr. Shah is a board-certified cardiologist. 

Jenny Kim, NP

Nurse Practitioner

Jenny Kim holds a master of science degree in nursing from George Mason University. Her passion for cardiology began as a registered nurse in a cardiac intensive care unit. Today, her goal is to work alongside her patients to empower them to engage and achieve a healthier lifestyle to maximize their cardiovascular health.

Jenny is a board-certified nurse practitioner in Virginia Heart's Fairfax and Loudoun offices.

Hematology

Dr. Germame H. Ajebo received his medical degree from Addis Ababa University Faculty of Medicine. His residency was at Mercer University School of Medicine with a training specialty in internal medicine. He completed his fellowship at Augusta University with a training specialty in hematology / oncology.

Dr. Ajebo is board certified in hematology, medical oncology, internal medicine and has been practicing since 2018.

Daniel Chong, MD

Dr. Daniel Chong received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. His residency was at the Medical College of Georgia with a yraining dpecialty in internal medicine. He completed his fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles with a training specialty in hematology and oncology.

Dr. Chong is board certified in medical oncology and hematology and has been practicing since 2008.

Dr. Marion Cole is a specialty care physician board certified in hematology and medical oncology. She joined Inova in 2016 and has been practicing since 2013. She has a special interest in hematologic malignancies, multiple myeloma, lymphoma and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS).

He completed his fellowship at the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a training specialty in hematology and the University of Missouri School of Medicine with a training specialty in hematology and oncology.

Dr. Medlin is board certified in hematology, internal medicine and medical oncology and has been practicing since 2001.

She completed her fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute with a training specialty in hematology and oncology.

Dr. Patel-Donnelly is board certified in medical oncology and hematology and has been practicing since 1996.

He completed his residency at George Washington University Medical Center with a training specialty in neurology.
