The Goals of the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program are to:
Support the mission, vision and values of Inova Health System to provide world-class healthcare – every time, every touch – to each person in every community we have the privilege to serve.
Develop advanced knowledge and clinical decision making in clinicians who are independent and self-motivated learners. This is through rigorous academic and clinical components of the curriculum to succeed in orthopedic specialty physical therapy practice.
Provide a curriculum that addresses all areas of the Orthopedic Description of Residency Practice through didactic education and clinical experience. This training will prepare residents to practice independently and confidently in orthopedic physical therapy. The program also meets and maintains the requirements for credentialing by the American Physical Therapy Association and the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education.
